Part 2 / 11
Plots, the workshop and the builder
An island has 6 plots in two rows of three, a workshop on the west shore and a power yard on the east shore. The workshop decides how many plots you may use.
Plots and desks
Every plot fits a single desk and a single rig. Plot 1 is open from the start. A locked plot shows a sign with the workshop level that opens it: plot 2 opens at level 2, plot 3 at level 3, and so on up to plot 6.
Workshop levels
The workshop grows on the map as it levels up. Besides opening plots, each level above the first adds a bonus to the island’s output as long as two or more matched rigs run (see Island bonus).
| Level | Opens | Price | Build time | Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Plot 1 | Start | — | — |
| 2 | Plot 2 | 60 Bits | 20 s | +4% |
| 3 | Plot 3 | 180 Bits | 40 s | +8% |
| 4 | Plot 4 | 500 Bits | 70 s | +12% |
| 5 | Plot 5 | 1,400 Bits | 110 s | +16% |
| 6 | Plot 6 | 4,000 Bits | 160 s | +20% |
The builder
Workshop and grid upgrades are builder jobs. The builder takes a single job at once; you pay when the job starts and it finishes on its own while the island keeps running. The hut on the map shows a progress bar and a very busy hammer while work is under way.
Make it look like yours
Flag colour and desk wood are free to change in the Island tab. They are purely cosmetic and never change a number.
